Biguerlai Tea - Is It Worth It?

Day 8
I just finished reading Kaye's blog where she shared her one-week Biguerlai experience Biguerlai Blues. It was a good read. Many people commented and shared their own Biguerlai experience. Some were very inspiring. Some were quite funny which reminds me of my own one-week Biguerlai experience. The first three days was hell. Good thing I work at home and don't need to go anywhere but the bathroom if I need to take a dump badly. I only stopped using Biguerlai tea because I was trying to get pregnant and I was a little concerned about its effects. What if unknowingly I get myself pregnant while taking the tea? That's one question I don't have an answer as of yet. But now with a new goal in mind (lose weight in 365 days), I'd be happy to give Biguerlai tea another try especially since I am not trying to get pregnant anymore, I figured I can get pregnant later when I am slimmer and sexier LOL. I'll let you all know how it goes after 3 months of continued use.

For information purposes, Biguerlai tea is a mild laxative tea. It is made of senna fruits and leaves and promotes slimming and weight lost. Its side effects are: loose bowel movements and dizziness. WARNING (taken from the back of the canister) overdosage can result in diarrhea with excessive loss of water and electrolytes particularly potassium.

Lemon Juice Diet - Does It Really Work?

Day 7
There are days when I feel a little sick in the stomach. I feel squeamish and bloated and lazy. With all the junk I used to eat, it's no surprise I feel very unhealthy. I need food that can help me get rid of toxins in the body and I found that lemons are natural detoxifiers.

We don't really have lemons here in the Philippines but we do have local lemons called calamansi or lemoncito. They are way smaller in size compared to lemons.

I also found out that going on a lemon juice diet helps in weight loss. Does it really work? Who knows! Until I find out for myself, I can't really say that drinking lemon juice everyday is a good way to detoxify or to lose weight but one thing is sure, with all the vitamin C you get from the juice you are guaranteed a healthier and stronger immune system. That's like saying no more colds and flu for years.



Lemons are bright yellow in color, oblong in size and around 2-4 inches long while lemoncitos are small, green and round like marbles. They both come in different varieties.

Lose Weight with Apple Cider Vinegar

Day 6
Natural apple cider vinegar is both food and medicine that is guaranteed to help you lose weight. Not only that, natural apple cider vinegar is good for the hair and skin. It can also help sooth minor burns and relieve skin from insect bites.

This is one of the most amazing health food product I definitely want to try. Lose weight by taking two teaspoons of natural apple cider vinegar daily. You can add it in one glass of water with some honey or you can add it to your lemonade, you can add it to your salad, use it to marinate meat, whichever way you like to take it. Of course, you also have to exercise and make sure you eat healthy and balanced meals each day if you really want to lose weight. I can't wait to include this in my diet.

Burn Fat With Oxygen?

I woke up this morning determined to find more ways to lose weight. The most interesting health fact I dig up while surfing the Internet so far has something to do with the natural fat burning process happening inside the body. Did you know that oxygen helps in burning body fat? I'm totally thrilled.

Day 5
Oxygen is needed by the body to effectively burn fat. Chances are, not all oxygen taken in is processed and successfully distributed to the vital organs of the body. It's only with proper breathing that you learn how to make use of oxygen and use it in natural fat burning.

Oxygen increases body energy, helping you fight off stress and fatigue. Oxygen increases metabolism and also helps the body get rid of fat-inducing toxins. Two ways to improve and encourage proper breathing is by practicing yoga and tai chi.



I have already downloaded basic yoga moves and basic tai chi videos and will be including 15 minutes of each into my daily routine.

To Lose Weight or To NOT Lose Weight

If losing weight is as easy and as natural as breathing, I would not be having a hard time as I am having right now. I am at DAY 4 and already I am starting to feel the pinch, the discomfort, the utter boredom of having to do the same thing over and over. What exactly have I been doing the last three days to reduce weight? Well, I do a little bellydancing each day (5-10 minutes) and then I try to get myself to eat one banana or two. I also try to get more sleep (easier now that I got a sleeping balm to help me sleep). Not much but it is the least I can do to live a healthier, fat-free, stress-free life. This, of course, also means cutting down on junk food. No more cookies and muffins and pies. No more cheeseburgers. No more chips. Sigh.

Being overweight is not fun. I'm missing out on a lot of things. I cannot eat what I like for fear of ruining the whole 365-day exercise and diet plan. I cannot do what I want. I cannot go shopping with my friends, I cannot run when I want to run and I cannot even go out to walk the dog. Can you just feel all that lovely self-esteem going down?

Being overweight means getting all hot and sweaty at the wrong time. Picture shopping with your friends and then finding your top wet with sweat and your makeup streaking. I just hate it when that happens. Picture running and then going blue in the face as you try to catch your breath, huffing and puffing, wiping brows and face with wet wipes to get rid of excess sweat. I know how that exactly feels. That's why I don't go out much these days. If I were to get hot and sweaty, I'd rather be home where no one can see my flushed face.

What You Need is ZZzzz

Day 4

Sleep is the most beautiful thing in the world.

I work long nights. Sometimes I work early mornings. By the time I finish, it's already sun up so it's really no surprise that sleeping is one of my favorite pastime. I love to sleep. I really, really love to sleep. I would sleep all day long if my body would let me. But the thing is, I have difficulty sleeping. It's only when I have really exhausted myself that I find myself closing my eyes. Which I think is just plain suicide.




I read in an article on the Internet that lack of sleep makes it harder for the body to lose weight though it didn't say why this is so. There were only theories that it might have something to do with the metabolism of the body. Lack of sleep slows down a person's metabolism and you do know that a slower metabolic rate means a significant increase in body weight.....OK, OK, no more Facebook from now on!! Just twitter and blogger and work. That way, I get more time for sleep. Losing weight is so NOT fun.

The Secret To Healthy, Beautiful Skin

Day 3
You think it's the brand new soap they advertise on TV? You think it's the moisturizer in that oh-so-posh bottle you see on the glossy covers of magazines? Well, no, not really. Forget that it's even secret. Everybody knows what it is. It's just plain tap water. Drink eight glasses everyday and you'll look like you just swallowed your first light bulb. Seriously, you'll have smoother, younger-looking skin that glows like a baby's bottom.

Water rejuvenates the body, quenches the thirst and helps you get rid of harmful toxins. When you drink water, you promote better blood circulation in the body, your body burns fat better, every part of your body gets to do their part.

I have to admit that I don't always drink eight glasses everyday. Sometimes I just forget. I get too busy at work. I get too busy watching TV. I get too busy on everything else. Probably why I am overweight. But of course, now that I am more determined to lose weight than ever, water is going to be my best friend.
