Super Mom?...NOT!

Everyday feels like a Monday. Deadlines, emails to check, emails to discard, emails to reply to, tweets to post, blogs to read and so on. Such is the life of a work-at-home mommy. I have no problem taking breaks when I'm in mommy mode but once I switch back to work mode, I get so busy I forget everything else. My husband gets so frustrated when he asks me something and finds that I didn't even hear a single thing he said. I have to admit, I hate getting interrupted. When I'm working, I AM working and I try to get as much work done.

I talked to a friend of mine who works as a home-based call center agent and asked how she manages being a work-at-home mom. "It's hard having to divide your time equally between work and family. That's one of my major complaints," she said. To take care of some of her problems, she hired a nanny to look after her baby and a housekeeper to take over the cooking and cleaning so she can work freely when it's time for her to work.

I have to admit I'm tempted to do the same since I don't have anyone else helping me with the baby and the house work other than my husband. The only thing stopping me is...well...I'm a bit traditional when it comes to domesticity. I want to be hands-on when it comes to taking care of the family. I feel uncomfortable with the idea of other people doing those for me.

Are there other work-at-home mommies reading this? If so, share your story! How do you manage your time? Do you have the same views as mine with regards to taking care of the family? Are YOU a super mom? I know, I'm not!
